About Us
Custom Gates & Fencing is owned and run by Cody Hudson, who has been building fences and gates for 12+ years. We're the ones who come out to look at your property, and we're the ones who build it. No salespeople and no subcontractors.
We'll measure, help you pick the right fence or gate for the space and your budget, and get you a written quote. Every job comes with a 1-year workmanship warranty.
How we build
- Posts set in concrete so your fence stays straight through wind and wet ground.
- Steel posts available galvanized steel posts for wood fences that need to last.
- Rot boards a 2x6 treated board along the bottom keeps the pickets off the dirt.
- Cap & trim for a clean, finished look across the top.
- Welded iron iron fences and gates welded together, not just screwed.
- A clean yard we haul off the old fence and clean up before we leave.

Questions We Hear a Lot
How much does a new fence cost?
It depends on the length, height, material and how many gates you need, so we'd rather not guess over the phone. We'll come out, measure and give you a written quote for free, and we'll walk you through options so you can pick what fits your budget.
What areas do you serve?
Navarro County, Ellis County and the south DFW area, including Corsicana, Waxahachie, Ennis, Midlothian, Red Oak, Mansfield, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Arlington and Grand Prairie. If you're a little outside that, call anyway.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. Every job comes with a 1-year workmanship warranty, in writing. If something we built isn't right, we'll come back and fix it.
Do you build vinyl fences?
Yes. Along with cedar, iron, chain link, pipe and ranch fence, we install vinyl privacy and picket fences.
How long does it take to build a fence?
Most home fences take a few days once materials are in. Bigger jobs, iron work and custom gates take longer. We'll give you a timeline with your quote.
Do you take care of utility locates?
Yes. Before we dig, we place a Texas 811 ticket so underground lines get marked. That usually takes 24 to 72 hours, along with any permits the job needs.
Can you work with my HOA?
Yes. If your HOA needs drawings, material details or photos before they approve a fence, we'll help you put that together.
Can you fix a fence or gate somebody else built?
Yes. We repair wood and iron fences, gates and gate openers no matter who put them in.
What gate openers do you work on?
LiftMaster, All-O-Matic, US Automatic and most other common brands. We install new openers and repair or rebuild old ones.
